Running the Bases
Learning to run the bases correctly is crucial. You can have all the speed in the world, but if you are not making the proper turns around the bases it will be difficult to stretch the single into a double or score from 1st on a ball hit in the gap.
Players should line up at first and go through hitting for the cycle (single, double, triple, homer). When running out the single, run through the bag and use your chop steps once past the bag while looking to the right to pick up any overthrow. For the double, triple and homer, work on your turns at each base, makeing sure you hit the inside corner of the bag and pick up your third base coach.
