Picking Up the 3rd Base Coach
Varying whether the runners start at home, first or second, work on having the runners pick up the third base coach to see whether they should a) advance to the next base, b) make a turn or c) stay on the base because the throw is coming in behind them.
As an example, with a runner on first, the runner takes off as if there was a hit to the outfield. The runner should take a look at the third base coach within 15 feet of second base to find out what he needs to do. The coach should vary instructions and players should work on their turns on the bases.
