Locate the Fence
Players will need to learn how to locate the fence or the stands in order to avoid injury and also be able to make a play. While standing about 30 ft. from the fence, the coach throws a ball in the air towards the fence. Players race backwards, find the fence and then make the catch. If the outfielder is on a dead run, the other fielders can help out by yelling that they have room or that they're approaching the fence. Outfielders should also use their throwing arm to locate the fence while getting into position to make the catch.
