Diving Drill

Everyone wants to end up on a highlight on ESPN. Though you should ensure that you're making all the routine plays all the time, a spectacular play could also save a game every so often.

Coaches can either roll or toss balls just out of the reach of players who should dive to make the play. For infielders, they should also work on getting to their feet as quickly as possible in order to make a play at first base.

Infielders should also be aware of the situations with runners on base because, sometimes, just knocking the ball down will save a run. For example, with a runner on second, most runners will score on a ground ball hit through the infield. If a fielder can just knock the ball down, the runner will most likely have hold up at third base.
