Catcher Blocking Drill

With the catcher in full gear, including cup, the coach stands 10-15ft away and throws the ball in the dirt. The catcher should work on his technique of dropping down and keeping the ball in front of him. The coach should be throwing the ball into the dirt and over the plate to help the catcher discern the flight path of the ball as quickly as possible.
